Oh hello!
I'm Christy - an author and illustrator working from my studio in beautiful Southwestern Ontario, Canada. Surrounded by my garden and the landscape beyond, I find endless inspiration in the quiet rhythms of nature.
My work drifts between naturalist illustration, sophisticated nonsense, and children’s storytelling—each piece a reflection of my deep love for the natural world and its unfolding cycles. Whether I’m capturing the delicate structure of a wildflower or imagining a world where whimsy takes root, my art is grounded in observation, curiosity, and wonder.
For me, art is a way of paying attention—of celebrating the small miracles that surround us every day, and sharing them through the playful, poetic language of image and story.
A few bars about me (in 3/4 time, please)
Hailing from a theatrical/dance background, I’ve donned many creative hats over the years: tap dancer, vocalist, movie extra, and makeup artist to name a few.
Fun fact: I grew up in Australia and worked at a Koala sanctuary!
I’m also a bird nerd (I know, you never would have guessed!) I even use my birding superpowers for good by taking part in citizen-science projects such as SwiftWatch and the Ontario Breeding Bird Atlas. Oh and you may have noticed my wonky fingers - arthritis hit me young, and these wayward digits make my marks.
I bring to the table over 30 years of illustration experience working with clients from all over the map: Thames & Hudson (Australia), Macy's department store (NYC), the Nature Conservancy of Canada and hey, maybe you!
Armed with ink and paint, there is always something waiting to be imagined.
I'd love to chat about bringing YOUR ideas to life.
